The Gathering of Eagles Foundational Literacy Program
The GoEF Foundational Literacy Program “Mind over Medals” is a core initiative, designed to promote early childhood literacy while celebrating the inspiring stories of Olympic and sports legends.
This unique program serves two key purposes:
1. To raise awareness of the achievements of Olympic and sports heroes through engaging, age-appropriate children's books.
2. To teach foundational reading skills to children ages 4 to 10—critical years for literacy development.
By connecting real-life stories of perseverance, dedication, and success to early reading materials, we inspire young minds to believe that greatness is within reach. These exciting narratives not only foster a love for reading but also serve as powerful life lessons in resilience and ambition.
According to recent statistics, 65% of children are reading below grade level by the 4th grade. This deficit greatly hinders future academic progress and is a significant factor contributing to high school dropout rates.
